Prerequisites
CAMS Admin login with rights to view and edit loans.
The guarantor's identity and contact details, plus the amount or share they will guarantee.
The collateral details, such as the asset description and its value.
In the left menu, go to Accounts > Loans, then open the loan you want to work on.
On the loan, open the Guarantors tab to see the guarantors already attached.
Use the add action on the tab to attach a guarantor. Enter the guarantor's identity and contact details and the amount or share guaranteed, then save.
To capture collateral and guarantors together at the start, create the loan through New Loan Application instead. Fill the guarantor and collateral sections in the application, add the asset description and value for collateral, and upload any required documents before the application moves on.
Common pitfalls & FAQ
Where do I add these for a brand new loan? Add them in the New Loan Application form, in its guarantor and collateral sections. They then stay viewable on the loan.
Can I add a guarantor after the loan exists? Yes. Open the loan, go to the Guarantors tab, and use the add action to attach more.
My application will not move to the next step. The system checks that required guarantor and collateral documents are uploaded. Upload them first, then try again.
What does a guarantor record hold? The guarantor's identity and contact details, and the amount or share they guarantee for this loan.
What does a collateral record hold? The asset description and its value. This is the security pledged against the loan.
