Step-by-step

Here's an example of repaying a loan:

  1. Dial 38425611#.
  2. Reply with your SACCO's number (for example 5) and send.
  3. On your SACCO menu, reply 3 for Loan, then choose to repay.
  4. Pick the loan you're paying (if you have more than one) and enter the amount.
  5. Confirm, then approve the payment (mobile-money prompt or your PIN). You'll get a confirmation message.

Note: The exact prompts vary by SACCO, but the order is the same: Loan → repay → choose loan → amount → confirm → approve.

Common pitfalls & FAQ

  • Which loan am I paying? If you have several, choose the right one by its number or amount. Check first with Check your balances by USSD.
  • The money left but the loan balance didn't drop. Give it a few minutes and check again; if it's still wrong, contact your SACCO with the amount and mobile-money reference.
  • Can I pay only part of it? Usually yes — enter the amount you can pay now. Paying on time avoids extra charges.
  • "Session expired." Dial again and move quickly through the steps.
