About 2 minutes · 4 steps. Also called: PIN, secret code, create PIN, reset PIN, forgot PIN, password.

Prerequisites

  • A phone using the number registered with your SACCO.
  • You can reach your SACCO menu — see Getting started on USSD.

Step-by-step

Here's how setting a PIN goes:

  1. Dial 38425611#.
  2. Reply with your SACCO's number (for example 5) and send.
  3. On your SACCO menu, reply 4 for Create / Reset PIN.
  4. Follow the prompts: enter the PIN you want (usually 4 digits), then enter it again to confirm. You'll get a message that your PIN is set.

Note: Use the same steps to reset a forgotten PIN — option 4 lets you set a new one. Your SACCO's exact wording may differ slightly, but the steps are the same.

Common pitfalls & FAQ

  • I forgot my PIN. Dial in again and choose 4. Create / Reset PIN to set a new one.
  • It won't accept my PIN. Use the number of digits it asks for (usually 4), and make sure both entries match.
  • Should I share my PIN? Never. No SACCO or staff member will ask for it — it's like your bank card PIN.
  • It says my number isn't recognised. You must use the phone number registered with your SACCO. Ask them to update it if it's wrong.
