Summary
Set the rules your SACCO runs by on the Policies screen, where you edit the Membership, Credit Group and Credit Product policies.
Each policy controls a different area, and changes apply from the time you save.
About 5 minutes · 5 steps.
Prerequisites
An admin login with access to Settings.
A clear idea of the values you want to change before you start.
Approval from the right person if your SACCO requires sign-off on policy changes.
In the left menu, open Settings and click Policies. The screen opens on the Saccos Policy, with tabs for Credit Group Policy, Membership Policy, Credit Product Policy and Holidays.
Click the tab for the policy you want to change. Membership Policy covers who can join and the rules members follow. Credit Group Policy and Credit Product Policy cover group lending and loan-product rules.
Read the current settings, then click Edit to change them.
Update the values you need, then save. The new rules apply going forward.
Common pitfalls & FAQ
Which policy do I need? Pick by the area you want to control: members and joining go in Membership Policy, group lending in Credit Group Policy, and loan-product rules in Credit Product Policy.
Will this change past records? No. A saved policy applies to what happens after you save it. It does not rewrite loans or members already on file.
I cannot find the Edit button. Make sure you are on the right tab first. Each tab has its own settings and its own Edit button.
Do I have to fill in Holidays? No. Holidays is a separate tab for non-working days. Leave it alone if you only need to change a policy.
Can I change one value without touching the rest? Yes. Click Edit, change only the field you need, and save. The other values stay as they were.
