Summary
Reschedule a loan in CAMS so the repayment plan matches what the borrower can now pay.
Use rescheduling when a member's circumstances change or when you need to restructure a loan that has fallen into arrears.
About 3 minutes · 6 steps.
Prerequisites
An admin login that can open Accounts and edit loans.
The loan account you want to change, and the loan officer's approval to reschedule it.
The new terms you plan to set, such as a longer tenure or a new instalment amount.
In the left menu, click Accounts, then click Loans. This opens the list of loan accounts.
Find the loan and open it to its detail page. The page shows tabs for Summary, Transactions, Schedule, Repayments, Charges, Guarantors, Documents, and History.
Click Reschedule Loan from the loan actions. This opens the reschedule form.
Set the new repayment terms on the form, such as the tenure, the instalment amount, or the start date. Then save the form.
Open the Schedule tab to confirm the new plan. CAMS recalculates the schedule, so check the new instalments and due dates before you tell the member.
Common pitfalls & FAQ
When should I reschedule a loan? Reschedule when the borrower's circumstances change, or to restructure a loan that is in arrears so the member can keep paying.
Does rescheduling clear the arrears? No. It builds a new repayment plan around the balance owed. The borrower still owes the money, but on new dates and amounts.
I cannot see the Reschedule Loan button. It sits with the other loan actions on the detail page, next to Loan Top-Up and Close loan. If it is missing, your login may not have rights to reschedule.
The schedule did not change after I saved. Open the Schedule tab again to reload it. If the dates and instalments still look wrong, check the values you entered on the reschedule form.
Is rescheduling the same as a top-up? No. Loan Top-Up adds more money to the loan. Rescheduling changes the repayment plan for the existing balance.
