1Open Accounts → Loans and switch to the New tab. Approved loans waiting to be paid out are listed here.
2Tick the loan you want to pay out.
3Click Disburse Loans, then choose Cash (record a payout at the teller) or Mobile Money (send to the member’s wallet) and confirm the amount.

Prerequisites

  • A CAMS Admin login with rights to disburse loans.
  • A loan that has already been approved. If it still needs approval, see How to approve a loan.
  • The member's name or loan account number so you can find the right loan.
  • For mobile money, the member's wallet should be set up with their provider.

Step-by-step

  1. Sign in to CAMS Admin. If you are not sure how, see How to sign in and navigate CAMS Admin.
  2. In the left menu, open Accounts > Loans. The list opens on the New tab, which holds approved loans waiting to be paid out. Once a loan is paid out it shows under Disbursed.

  1. Click the loan to open it. Check the Disbursement Details section to confirm the member, the loan product, and the approved amount.

  1. Click the Disburse action.
  2. Choose the method. Pick Cash to record a cash payout at the teller, or Mobile Money to send the funds to the member's mobile-money wallet through the provider.
  3. Confirm the amount and the account, then submit. The loan moves to Active (shown under Disbursed), the Disbursement Details section fills in, and the repayment Schedule is generated.

Common pitfalls & FAQ

  • I cannot find the loan to disburse. Look on the New tab, which holds approved loans waiting for payout. A loan already paid out sits under Disbursed, not New.
  • The Disburse action is missing or greyed out. The loan is most likely not approved yet. Approve it first, then come back to disburse it.
  • What is the difference between Cash and Mobile Money? Cash records a payout the teller hands over in person. Mobile Money sends the funds straight to the member's wallet through their provider.
  • When does the member start repaying? The repayment Schedule is generated at disbursement and interest starts from then, so disburse on the day you mean the loan to begin.
  • I disbursed the wrong amount, can I undo it? Not from this screen. Ask an authorised user to reverse it with an error correction at the teller, and check the amount carefully before you submit next time.
