View your savings

Summary

See your savings accounts in the member app and understand what each balance means. About 4 minutes · 8 steps. Also called: my contributions, savings balance, available balance, deposits.

Prerequisites

• You can sign in — see How to sign in to the member app.

Step-by-step

1. Open the member app and sign in. You'll see Your Groups.
2. Tap your group. Your dashboard opens.
3. Under My Contributions, tap See Details. Your savings open, with one card for each savings account you hold.

   

Then read each part of the card:

1. Product Name and Account Number. The savings product your SACCO opened for you, and the account number money is paid into.
2. Total Balance. Everything held in the account.
3. Reserved Balance. Money the SACCO is holding back, often as security against a loan. You can't withdraw it.
4. Available Balance. Total Balance minus Reserved Balance — what you can take out today.
5. Status. Active means the account is open and in use.

Common pitfalls & FAQ

• I have several savings accounts. Each gets its own card. Type part of a name in the search box at the top to find one.
• My account doesn't say Active. An account can also be closed, or matured in the case of a fixed deposit. Contact your SACCO if the status surprises you.
• One account behaves differently. Fixed deposit accounts follow different rules from ordinary savings, so what you can take out and when may differ. Ask your SACCO which type you hold.
• I need every deposit and withdrawal listed. This screen shows balances, not a line-by-line list. Ask your SACCO for a statement.
