Find loans still holding blocked guarantor or collateral funds

Summary

Find loans that are closed, rescheduled or topped up but still hold blocked guarantor or collateral funds, so you can release that money back to the members it belongs to.

About 2 minutes. Also called: blocked funds, guarantor funds, collateral release, loan reconciliation.

Why this report exists

When a loan is secured, part of a guarantor's savings or the member's own collateral is blocked for the life of the loan. When the loan ends the block should end with it. In practice a loan can be closed, rescheduled or topped up while the block stays behind, and the guarantor's money remains locked with nothing left to secure.

This report lists exactly those loans. Each row is a loan that no longer needs its security but still has blocked funds attached.

Where to find it

  1. Sign in to CAMS Admin.
  2. In the left menu, expand Reports and open Reconciliation. The Reconciliation Reports hub is a grid of cards.
  3. Open the report for blocked guarantor and collateral funds and run it for your branch.

What to do with a row

A loan on this report needs its blocked funds released. Review the loan to confirm it is genuinely finished, then release the guarantor or collateral funds the way you normally do when a loan closes. How the block was created in the first place is covered in How to add collateral and guarantors to a loan.

Note: An empty report is the goal. If the same loans reappear after you release their funds, contact support rather than releasing them twice.
