PIN Security for Loan Applications via USSD

Implementing a PIN on USSD is crucial for enhancing security. It ensures that only the authorized user can access loan applications, by protecting against unauthorized access. This helps to curb fraud, ensures privacy and builds trust.

This is an advanced security feature. Users must now create/reset a USSD PIN via the USSD portal before applying for loans. Upon setting the password, an OTP is needed and it can only be initiated by the admin

Steps

  1. Dial the USSD code
  2. Select 4 to create or Reset Pin
  3. Wait for the OTP initiated by the admin

On the admin portal, click on Send USSD Pin OTP, a message will pop up indicating the OTP was sent successfully

  1. Key in the OTP received and click on send
  2. Create a new pin and click on send
  3. Enter and confirm the created pin, then send
  4. Type in 1 to confirm the new pin created and send
  5. There is a pop-up confirming pin creation.

NOTE: Once the pin has been created, the user can use it over and over. If they forget the pin, the carry out pin reset
