Overview

The messaging feature helps administrators manage communication effectively. They can view message logs for transparency, control SMS and email preferences for admins and members, and update messaging templates to ensure clear and consistent communication.

This feature enables an admin to create a message template and specify the target segment for message delivery.

  • A message template is a pre-designed message format used for sending the same message to many people while personalizing specific details. It includes placeholders like [Name] or [Date], which the system automatically replaces with each recipient’s information.
  • A message segment is the specific group of people the admin targets when sending a message, defined based on criteria like role, activity, or demographics. It allows the admin to tailor communication to relevant audiences, such as clients, other admins, or specialized subgroups, ensuring messages are purposeful and effective

The following are the steps for admins to create and send a message:

By following these steps, you can create templates, define segments, and send messages to the intended recipients.

  1. Access the Messaging Menu:
    • On the menu, click the Message button.
  2. Create a Template:
    • Select Create Template.
  3. Fill in Template Details:
    • Choose the Type of template.
    • Enter the Name of the template.
    • Set the Template Key.
    • Select the Company (which will display the name of your SACCO).
  4. Create a Segment:
    • Once the template is created, click Create Segment.
    • Fill in the Name and Description for the segment.
    • Select Filter, then choose the intended Receiver for the message.
  5. Send the Message:
    • After setting the segment, click Send Message.
    • Select the Type, Company, and Template.
    • Choose the Template you created earlier.
    • Select the Sender from the options available.
    • Choose the Segment for the message recipients.
  6. After sending, check the logs to view the messages sent and their delivery status.
