How to reach out to members via SMS
Summary
Send one SMS to a whole segment of members, using a template and a saved segment. About 4 minutes · 8 steps. Also called: text message, bulk SMS, broadcast, notify members.
Prerequisites
- An enabled template with its SMS Text written (see How to create a message template).
- A segment holding the members you want to reach (see How to add an SMS segment).
- Enough SMS Credits for everyone in the segment.
Step-by-step
- Sign in to CAMS.
- In the left menu, click Messages. Check SMS Credits in the header covers everyone you plan to text; click Recharge if it is short.
- In the header, click Send Message. The send form opens.
- Set Type to SMS. The SMS fields appear, and Company is usually filled in already.

Figure 1: The Send Message form with Type (highlighted) set to SMS. Below it you pick the Company, the Template, and the Segment that receives the text. - Confirm Company, then pick your Template. Only enabled templates appear.
- Pick a Sender. This is the name or number the text comes from.
- Pick the Segment that receives the message. Everyone its filters match gets one SMS.
- Click Send Message, then open the Logs tab. Your send shows Bulk as the Recipient, with its Sending Status, Credits and a Delivery count.
Tip: Click Test Message first, then open Logs and read the result. Fix any failure before the full send.
Common pitfalls & FAQ
- My template is not in the Template list. Switch its Enable / Disable toggle on, on the Messages tab.
- It says I do not have enough credits. Recharge first (see How to top up your SMS balance).
- Only some members got it. A Delivery count with two different numbers means part of the batch failed. The next lesson shows how to read the batch and fix the cause.
