Bank Integration
Summary
Record a member's bank account in CAMS, then check the money moving in and out through the bank. About 5 minutes · 10 steps. Also called: bank details, payouts, collections, settlement.
Prerequisites
- Your CAMS sign-in, with access to client records and Business Account.
- The member's bank name, account number, BIC/Swift code and branch address.
- Their bank slip, to check the account number.
Step-by-step
- Sign in to CAMS with your staff account.
- In the left menu, click Client. Wait until the Clients list shows real rows.
- In Search, type the member's name or Member Id and press Enter. The list narrows.
- Click the member's row. Their profile opens with tabs under the header.
- Click the Bank tab. The saved accounts appear, with Bank Name, Account Number, BIC/Swift Code and Branch Address. "No data available" means none are stored yet.
- Click Add Bank. A blank form opens.
- Enter Bank Name and Account Number, then BIC/Swift Code and Branch Address if your process needs them.
Warning: Check the account number against the member's bank slip before saving. Wrong digits send money to the wrong account.
- Save the form. The new row appears on the Bank list; a member can have more than one.
- In the left menu, click Business Account. Wait for the header: Account ID, Fees Wallet, Due Amount and Status.
- Open the Collection and Disbursements tab, already selected. You'll see Balance, Pending Settlement and the transaction list. Only Pending Settlement reaches your bank, in the next settlement cycle.
Tip: To trace a payment, type part of its Transaction Id in the search box.
Common pitfalls & FAQ
- The Bank tab says "No data available". No account is stored yet. Click Add Bank.
- A tab is missing. Some tabs, like Fee Settings and Invoices, need the right role. Ask an administrator.
- Balance looks healthy but our bank account is empty. Balance is not banked cash. Wait for the cycle to move the Pending Settlement amount.
- A member paid in but wasn't credited. Collections match on the SACCO account number given as the reference. If it is missing or mistyped, nothing matches. Find the row by Transaction Id and raise it with support.
- How does a member pay in cash? They deposit at a bank or bank wakala into the SACCO or Wakandi pooled account, quoting the reference number. The bank sends the details back, and may first ask Wakandi to verify the account.
- Can a member collect cash at the bank? Not today. Cash disbursement through banks is not supported: the person taking the money out is hard to verify. It may come later, with SACCO approval and biometric or one-time-code checks.
- Where can a digital payout go? A payout started in CAMS can reach the member's bank account or their mobile money wallet.
- Can I connect a new bank myself? No. Wakandi sets up your providers and whether they collect, disburse or both. Contact support.
