Fund Settlement
Summary
Send a SACCO's pooled funds to its own bank or mobile money account by running a manual settlement in the CAMS Superadmin Portal. About 5 minutes · 9 steps. Also called: payout, settle funds, fund transfer, bank transfer.
Prerequisites
- A CAMS Superadmin Portal sign-in that can open Business Accounts.
- The SACCO's bank or mobile money details, exactly as the SACCO gave them.
- The reference of the real bank transfer, so CAMS matches the statement.
Step-by-step
- Sign in to the CAMS Superadmin Portal.
- In the main menu, click Business Accounts, then open Accounts.
- Search for the SACCO and click its row. The Details tab shows Available Balance, Total Blocked Fund, Fees Wallet Balance and the Auto Settlement status.
- Open the Withdrawal Accounts tab and find the SACCO's account. Rows show Account Holder Name, Account Number, Account Type and Bank/MNO Name, and the default account is marked.
Warning: These details are posted into SACCO Accounting too, so they must match what the SACCO gave you, character for character.
- If the account is missing, click Add Withdrawal Account. Choose the account type (BANK or MNO), fill in the details, tick the default settlement account box if it should also serve auto settlement, then submit.
- Open the Settlements tab. The summary shows Collection Amount, Disbursement Amount, Collection Blocked Fund, Settlement Fee and Total Amount. The Total Amount is what moves.
- Click Settle. The settlement page opens.
- Choose the SACCO's withdrawal account as the destination, then the Wakandi sending account, for example DTB or NMB. Type the Reference ID from the real bank transfer so the records reconcile.
- Click Submit. CAMS posts the transaction and adds it to the settlement history with date, status and amount.
Note: To skip the manual run, turn on the Auto Settlement toggle on the Settlements tab and mark one withdrawal account as the default settlement account.
Common pitfalls & FAQ
- What is settlement? Member money lands in a pooled Wakandi account shared by several SACCOs. Settlement moves a SACCO's share out to its own account. The SACCO agreement and local regulations set the pace: immediate, daily or on request. Wakandi carries the float in between.
- The destination list is empty. No withdrawal account exists yet. Add one on the Withdrawal Accounts tab (step 5), then return to Settlements.
- The amount is not what the SACCO expected. Read the summary line by line: collections, minus disbursements, minus blocked funds, minus the Settlement Fee, gives the Total Amount.
- The SACCO says the money has not arrived. Ask them to sign in to CAMS and click Business Account in the left menu. On the Collection and Disbursements tab, Pending Settlement is the amount still waiting; each row is tagged Pending or Completed. Quick Loan has its own Pending Settlement card on the Quick Loan tab.
- Does Wakandi take part of the loan interest? No. Interest stays with the SACCO. Any charge shows as the Settlement Fee line.
