Settings: language, documents, bank and mobile-money details

Try it on your phone — a real, hand-built simulation of the Member App below. Nothing you do here touches a real account. It opens where you would be after signing in. Watch this flow for the whole path to the screen this article is about, or tap through it yourself.

Summary

A tour of two places: the Profile tab, where you set the app's language and manage sign-in security, and your SACCO's Membership details, where you check the personal, bank, mobile-money and document records held on your account. About 4 minutes · 8 steps. Also called: settings, language, documents, bank details, mobile money, MNO, MPIN, biometric login, membership details.

Prerequisites

Step-by-step

  1. Open the member app and sign in — see How to sign in to the member app.
  2. Under My Savings and Credits, tap your SACCO to open it.
  3. In the top menu, tap Profile. This holds app-wide settings — the same for every SACCO you belong to, not tied to one group.
  4. Tap Change language to choose English or Swahili. These are the only two languages the app supports.
  5. Use the Biometric Login toggle to turn fingerprint or face sign-in on or off for this device. Change MPIN is also on this screen, for updating the PIN you use to confirm actions — this screen hasn't been documented yet, so we can't describe exactly what it asks for.
  6. Go back to your dashboard and open Membership (also called Client Details). This holds the records your SACCO keeps on you for that group.
  7. On this screen: Personal details and Employment details are your information on file, and Documents are the identity papers your SACCO holds for you. None of these three have been documented in detail yet.
  8. Open Bank details or the MNO tab to see the accounts on file for withdrawals (MNO means Mobile Network Operator, like MTN or Airtel). Either can show "There are no bank items to show" when empty — tap Create to add one.

Note: Keep your bank and mobile-money details up to date — wrong details can delay your money.

Common pitfalls & FAQ

  • The app changed language and I can't read it. Tap Profile, then Change language, and choose English again.
  • I don't see Hindi as a language option. The app supports English and Swahili only.
  • Why are there two different settings screens? Profile covers app-wide settings like language and sign-in security. Membership (under your group) covers the records that particular SACCO holds on you, like your bank details and documents.
  • My details were changed, but the old value still shows. A change to bank or mobile-money details goes to your SACCO as a request. The new value appears once a staff member approves it.
  • My withdrawal went to the wrong place. Under Membership, check Bank details and the MNO tab. If either is wrong, ask your SACCO to update it before the next payout, or tap Create if it's missing.
  • Documents is empty. Your SACCO hasn't uploaded anything yet. Ask which papers they need and bring your identity documents when you visit.
  • Where do I change my MPIN? Under Profile, next to Change language. We haven't fully documented this screen yet — ask your SACCO if you get stuck.
