Sign inPrerequisites
- A CAMS sign-in for the Wakandi Admin Portal, with permission to create loan applications.
- The group already registered as a client, Active, with a home branch and a membership policy.
- A loan product the group is eligible for under that policy. Your credit lead is the safest source.
- The principal, tenure and interest rate agreed for the group.
Step-by-step
- Sign in to the Wakandi Admin Portal.
- In the left sidebar, click Client, then find and open the group.
- Open the Accounts tab on the group's record. Alongside Add saving and Add share you will see New loan application.
- Click New loan application. The application form opens with the group already selected as the client.
- Choose the loan Product, enter the Principal Amount, the Tenure and the Interest Rate, then complete the remaining sections as you would for an individual member. Submit the application for review when the sections are complete.
Common pitfalls & FAQ
- I cannot see New loan application on the group. The action sits on the group's Accounts tab, not on Summary. If it is still missing, check that the group is Active and that your role allows loan applications to be created.
- The group already has an application in progress. A group with a pending loan application, or with a loan in bad standing, is treated the same way as an individual member in that position. Settle or withdraw the existing one first.
- Does the group's type matter? No. A group registered under any group type, including Others, can have a loan application started this way, provided its policy allows the product you pick.
- Which policy applies? The group carries the policy set on its membership details. If it should be lent to under a different policy, change that on the group before you start the application.
- Can I still do this in the classic admin? Yes. The same application can be started from the classic admin, and both routes create the same application.
