How to apply for a Quick Loan
Summary
Borrow a small instant loan in the member app and have it paid to your mobile money. About 4 minutes · 8 steps. Also called: instant loan, quick loan, mobile loan, fast cash.
Prerequisites
- You can sign in — see How to sign in to the member app.
- An active membership. Loan services only work while your account is active.
- An eligible amount. The form shows how much you can borrow.
Step-by-step
- Open the member app and sign in. You'll see Your Groups.
- Tap your group. Your dashboard opens.
- Under Quick Loan, tap Apply Now. The Quick Loan form opens.

Figure 1: The Quick Loan application form: the loan product list, the eligible amount slider, the borrowing period, the mobile-money line the funds go to, and the Apply Now button at the bottom - Under Choose loan product, pick the product you want to borrow against.
- Set the amount with the slider, or type it in the box. You can't go above the eligible amount shown.
- Under For how many days you want to borrow?, set the number of days.
- Check Where would you like to receive fund? That is the mobile-money line the money goes to. If the number is wrong, ask your SACCO to update it before you apply.
- Tap Apply Now. You'll see a confirmation, and approved funds are sent to your mobile money.
Warning: The decision is instant and an approved loan pays out straight away. A Quick Loan is real money with a due date, so check the amount and the days before you tap Apply Now. You repay from My Loans — see See and repay your loans.
Common pitfalls & FAQ
- The eligible amount is 0. It depends on your membership status, your share capital and how you handled earlier loans. Keep contributing, and clear any overdue loan first — you can't take a new Quick Loan while an old one is unpaid.
- The product list is empty. Your SACCO may not have a Quick Loan product open to you yet. Contact your SACCO.
- I was asked for a one-time code. That's normal — the app sends a code to confirm it's you. Enter it and continue.
- What will it cost me? Your SACCO sets the charges. A processing charge can be taken at payout, and a late charge can apply after the due date.
- Apply Now failed with an error. Check the amount and the days, then try again. A form left idle can sign you out — sign in and retry. If it keeps failing, contact your SACCO.
