View your shares
Summary
See how many shares you hold in your SACCO and what they are worth. About 3 minutes · 5 steps. Also called: my shares, share account, share value.
Prerequisites
- You can sign in — see How to sign in to the member app.
- A share account your SACCO has already opened for you.
Step-by-step
- Open the member app and sign in. You'll see Your Groups.
- Tap your group. Your dashboard opens.
- On the Shares card, tap See Details. Your share account opens.

Figure 1: Your share account in the member app, showing the product name, account number, total shares, the balances and the account status - Read Product Name, Account Number and Total Share. Total Share counts the shares you own — a number of shares, not money.
- Read the balances and Status. The balances show what your shares are worth in your currency. Reserved Balance and Available Balance work as they do for savings — View your savings explains them.
Note: This screen is a view only. Your SACCO handles share withdrawals and transfers for you.
Common pitfalls & FAQ
- There's no Shares card, or nothing opens. Your SACCO opens share accounts for members. If you expect to hold shares, ask them to check the account exists and is active.
- My share count looks small. Share value depends on the price per share your SACCO sets, so the count and the balance differ. Ask your SACCO if the number looks wrong.
- Can I buy more shares here? Not from this screen. If your SACCO offers USSD, you can contribute there: pick the share account, enter the amount, and check the total shown — it includes any fee. USSD contributions post in real time, so make sure you pay into shares, not savings. If a contribution doesn't show, take your confirmation message to the SACCO.
- What's the difference between shares and savings? Savings is money you pay in and take out. Shares are your ownership stake in the SACCO.
