View your savings
Summary
See your savings accounts in the member app and understand what each balance means. About 4 minutes · 8 steps. Also called: my contributions, savings balance, available balance, deposits.
Prerequisites
- You can sign in — see How to sign in to the member app.
Step-by-step
- Open the member app and sign in. You'll see Your Groups.
- Tap your group. Your dashboard opens.
- Under My Contributions, tap See Details. Your savings open, with one card for each savings account you hold.

Figure 1: The savings screen in the member app, opened from My Contributions, showing a savings account card with product name, account number, total, reserved and available balance, and status
Then read each part of the card:
- Product Name and Account Number. The savings product your SACCO opened for you, and the account number money is paid into.
- Total Balance. Everything held in the account.
- Reserved Balance. Money the SACCO is holding back, often as security against a loan. You can't withdraw it.
- Available Balance. Total Balance minus Reserved Balance — what you can take out today.
- Status. Active means the account is open and in use.
Note: This screen shows balances only. To pay in, see How to contribute to your savings. To take money out, see How to withdraw from your savings.
Common pitfalls & FAQ
- I have several savings accounts. Each gets its own card. Type part of a name in the search box at the top to find one.
- My account doesn't say Active. An account can also be closed, or matured in the case of a fixed deposit. Contact your SACCO if the status surprises you.
- One account behaves differently. Fixed deposit accounts follow different rules from ordinary savings, so what you can take out and when may differ. Ask your SACCO which type you hold.
- I need every deposit and withdrawal listed. This screen shows balances, not a line-by-line list. Ask your SACCO for a statement.
