CAMS for Tellers
Test your everyday teller skills in CAMS: serving members, processing transactions, and checking balances. Pass the exam to earn your Wakandi certificate.
01
Make someone a teller and set what they can post
Give a staff member a till of their own, and decide which transactions they may post without approval first.
02
Open your till, top it up, and close it
Open your till with a float at the start of the day, move cash in or out during it, and close it at the end.
03
Take a savings deposit or withdrawal at the counter
Serve a member paying money in or taking money out of their savings account, from the teller screen.
04
Correct a transaction you posted in error
Correct a client transaction you posted by mistake, then prove the correction afterwards.
05
Making general ledger transactions as a teller
Post a general ledger entry from the teller screen, for money not tied to a member account.
06
Posting an expense transaction
Record a Sacco running cost, such as office supplies or travel, so the money leaves your cash or bank account and the right expense ledger is updated.
07
Approve or reject a teller transaction request
Review a pending teller transaction request and either approve it or reject it, so the teller's posting can finish.
08
Review the day's transactions before you close
Run the day's transaction reports for your branch, review what was reversed, and keep a copy of both.
09
How to reconcile the teller
Count your cash at the end of the day, match it to the balance CAMS expects, then close the till.
