Find your way around the member app

Summary

A tour of the member app dashboard, so you know where to see your savings, loans and shares, and where to act. About 4 minutes · 8 steps. Also called: home screen, member dashboard, overview.

Prerequisites

  • You can sign in. New here? Start with How to sign in to the member app.

Step-by-step

  1. Open your SACCO's member link and sign in. You'll see Your Groups.
  2. Tap your group. Your dashboard opens.
The member app dashboard: your name and Reference Number at the top, the Loan, Savings and Quick Loan action cards, and the My Loans, My Contributions and Shares balance cards below

Then the main things on this screen:

  1. Your details (top). Your Name, Member ID and Reference Number. Give the Reference Number whenever you pay in by mobile money or bank, so the SACCO knows whose account to credit.
  2. Savings — Contribute / Withdraw. Contribute pays money in; Withdraw asks for money out. See How to contribute to your savings and How to withdraw from your savings.
  3. Loan and Quick Loan — Apply Now. Loan starts a normal SACCO loan application; Quick Loan is a small instant loan paid to your mobile money. Both have their own lessons later in this course.
  4. Pending Fee — Pay Now. Charges you still owe. If an amount shows, tap Pay Now to clear it.
  5. My Loans, My Contributions and Shares — See Details. Your balances. Each opens a screen with one card per account, covered in its own lesson.
  6. The top menu. Your Groups lists your SACCOs, Profile holds your personal details, More holds Language, Documents, Bank Details and MNO Details (your mobile-money numbers), and the bell shows notifications.

Note: Balances can take a few minutes to catch up after a payment. Refresh the page if an amount looks behind.

Common pitfalls & FAQ

  • I don't see one of these cards. The dashboard shows only what your SACCO offers. No Quick Loan product means no Quick Loan card.
  • What do CR and DR mean? CR is money in your favour, such as savings or shares. DR is what you owe, such as a loan balance.
  • I'm seeing the wrong group's money. Tap Your Groups in the top menu and pick the right one.
